Sunday Times Tech Track 100 for the third year running

Last night was the Top 100 Tech Track Awards presentation event sponsored by the Sunday Times, Hiscox and Barclays. This is our third year running that Fluidata has made it into the list and this year we even had a feature in the iPad version of the Sunday Times.

Thatchers Legacy for Telecommunications

In death, as in life, Margaret Thatcher divided opinion. Obituaries penned celebrating the ‘savior of the nation’, while others celebrated the demise of a merciless class war commander. What we can perhaps all agree on is she was fundamental to shaping the world we live in now; as citizens, as workers, as business’s - our lives, for better or for worse, owe much to her actions. Of course in some quarters her legacy is more marked than in others, unbeknown to some the telecommunications industry is one such place.

Mobile providers join forces to create joint platform for “Wave to Pay” technology

Over the next few years we may well be paying for our goods by using our mobile phone. This is a concept that has been around for a while, and now  looks as though it’s finally happening. Over the last fortnight Orange/ T-Mobile , Vodafone and O2 have agreed to create a single platform to support mobile transactions. This step brings the whole concept closer to market realisation - as retailers will now only need to plug in to one joint platform.
