Windows 11 Now Compatible with Older Devices: Should you Upgrade?

Microsoft recently announced that Windows 11 would now be compatible with a broader range of older devices. Why Not Just Stick with Old Hardware?

But, while this update may sound like a win, it’s important to understand that just because Windows 11 is now available for older devices, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best option. 1. Performance Issues: Older devices, even if they meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11, may struggle to handle the OS efficiently. 2. Security Risks: Microsoft dropped the requirement of using TPM (Trusted Platform Module) 2.0 in Windows 11, now allowing TPM 1.2 – found on a wider range of older devices. However, while this may make older devices technically compatible, they may lack the hardware to support advanced security features found in Windows 11. For example, TPM 1.2 does not allow the latest encryption methods to be used, like TPM 2.0 does. This could leave your business exposed to cyber threats.
